Kitchen cure for damping off

Nothing is more disheartening when starting seeds then seeing those glorious little leaves pop out of the dirt one day and whither back the next.

Damping-off.

You know, where it looks like someone pinched the stem of your seedling. Ugh.

Well, I found a remedy that you most likely have right in your kitchen.

It started with a cookbook…

We were all gathered at Grandma and Papa’s house. I was squished on the couch between my husband and my brother flipping through some vintage cookbooks I found on Grandma’s bookshelf. I was especially intrigued by a red hard covered book with the title “Ruth Wakefield’s Toll House Tried and True Recipes”. My Grandma noticed which book had caught my attention and started telling me how my Papa had proposed to her at the Toll House Inn (which has sadly since burned down).
